Abstract

A recent study conducted by Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand explored the relationship between gut microbiota and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in Thai pediatric patients. The study analyzed the fecal microbial compositions of 24 treatment-naive children diagnosed with ADHD and compared them to 24 healthy children. While there were no statistically significant differences in microbial diversity between the two groups, ADHD patients exhibited enrichment in certain genera, while healthy controls had higher levels of other genera. The study suggests that further research is needed to understand the underlying mechanisms that influence gut microbiome profiles linked to ADHD. [Extracted from the article]
