Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the Shenzhen Institute for Drug Control in China explores the potential of a recombinant GM-CSF-carrying Sindbis virus, called SINV-GM-CSF, for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer). The study found that the Sindbis virus effectively infected liver cancer cell lines and induced cell death. Additionally, the addition of GM-CSF enhanced the tumor-killing effect of the virus and increased the number of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. The researchers concluded that SINV-GM-CSF shows promise as a safe and effective oncolytic virus for liver cancer therapy. [Extracted from the article]
