Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University explores the interplay between the microbiota and host in early-stage lung adenocarcinoma (ES-LUAD) among non-smokers. The study found that patients with ES-LUAD exhibited local microbial dysbiosis, suggesting the potential pathogenicity of certain microbial species. Through multi-omics correlations, the researchers observed intricate local crosstalk between the host and local microbial communities. Additionally, a diagnostic model composed of six bacterial markers was developed, which successfully differentiated between patients with ES-LUAD and healthy controls. This study enhances our understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms underlying ES-LUAD and provides a potential diagnostic tool for distinguishing between ES-LUAD and healthy individuals.
