Abstract
- In his study, the author aims to discuss the singular genitive-dative case form of the inherited Latin noun nea 'snow'. The focus on this particular nominal form is justified because both the authors of the main Romanian or Romance dictionaries (whether explanatory or etymological) and linguists have either not considered it or have not provided acceptable interpretative solutions. The author will appeal to diachronic, Romance, etymological, and morphological linguistic facts to support an objective argumentation. This approach intends to highlight new data that can clarify this investigative drawback in Romanian diachronic (and synchronic) grammar. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
