滋賀大学硬式野球部における コーチング実践.

This paper describes the author’s coaching practices at Shiga University, where he has coached the baseball team since 2017. The purpose of the paper is twofold: first, to provide an accurate picture of today’s sports coaching on Hikone Campus using the baseball team as an example, with the target readers being people who have been involved with Shiga University, an institution with a century-long history; and second, to deepen the author’s own understanding of the art of coaching through reflection on his own experiences as a coach. First, the paper begins by chronicling my coaching practices and the baseball team’s results over the past seven years as a case study. Next, the paper reflects on those coaching practices with the goal of revising my coaching philosophy. As a result, I was able to modify my coaching philosophy, which aims to promote the growth of student through working towards the team’s goals while enhancing their independence and ethical awareness, and to realize my own personal growth in the process.
