Abstract

The article presents news briefs related to the "Association for Computing Machinery," (ACM) a U.S. based organization related to computer science. It is reported in this article that John McKegney has been appointed Deputy Executive Director of ACM. Sidney Weinstein, Executive Director of the Association, has announced it. John McKegney joined ACM in 1973 as Assistant Controller and became Controller in 1974. Mark Blanks has replaced McKegney as Controller. Daniel D. McCracken, past president of ACM, has agreed to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the newly initiated ACM Anthologies Series, it has been announced by M. Stuart Lynn, Publications Board chairman. An Editorial Advisory Panel is to be appointed to assist him in the selection of topics and of volume editor. Lloyd Fosdick, Associate Editor-in-Chief of Communications, has announced the appointment of Duncan H. Lawrie for the Computer Architecture and Systems department of the Association. Duncan Lawrie received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1973 and is now an Associate Professor of Computer Science there.
