Abstract

Israel has launched airstrikes on the Houthi-held port city of Hodeidah in Yemen in response to a drone attack on Tel Aviv by the Iran-backed militants. The airstrikes targeted a power station and fuel storage sites, resulting in the deaths of three people and the injury of 87 others. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the port was being used as a gateway for Iranian weapons supplies to the Houthis. The Houthis have vowed to continue their attacks on Israel and commercial ship traffic in the Red Sea, while Israel has warned of further retaliation. Saudi Arabia has denied any involvement in the targeting of Hodeidah. The Biden administration has expressed support for Israel's right to self-defense. [Extracted from the article]
