Abstract

A new report discusses research findings on terrorism, specifically focusing on banditry in Nigeria. The research states that banditry is driven by non-ideological but economically motivated actions, often stemming from ethno-religious conflicts, political incitement, and economic factors. Banditry has caused internal displacement, disruption of livelihoods, food insecurity, unemployment, and poverty. The study concludes that addressing banditry requires adequate security measures, ethno-religious tolerance, employment opportunities, re-orientation of citizens, effective social policies, good governance, and education. The research emphasizes the implications of banditry on job insecurity and occupational health in Nigeria. [Extracted from the article]
