Abstract
- Lumendi Ltd. has been issued a patent for methods and apparatus that aim to improve visualization and treatment of lesions and abnormalities within body lumens and cavities during endoscopic procedures. The invention involves an apparatus with a hollow tube, an elongated rod with a sleeve plug, and flexible mandrels. By clamping and releasing the distal end of an elongated flexible tubular sleeve, the apparatus can invert the sleeve and create a stable side wall for examination and intervention. The patent also describes methods for inverting and reverting the sleeve, as well as additional features such as support channels for instruments and a balloon for inflation/deflation. The patent was filed by David Gaddy on November 16, 2021, and published on July 2, 2024. [Extracted from the article]
