Abstract

A study conducted in Beijing, China, analyzed the efficacy and safety of a combination therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The research group received salmeterol/fluticasone propionate plus tiotropium bromide therapy, while the control group received tiotropium bromide alone. The research found that the combination therapy had a higher overall response rate, improved pulmonary function, and lower levels of inflammatory markers compared to the control group. The study concluded that the combination therapy was effective and safe for treating COPD, with better outcomes in terms of pulmonary function, inflammatory markers, and quality of life.
