Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Minnesota explores the clustering of clinical response in patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) after receiving transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment. The researchers propose an algorithm based on hyperdimensional computing (HDC) to determine the number of clusters in a group of clinical responses. The study found that the HDC algorithm revealed different clusters compared to traditional latent class mixed modeling (LCMM), but both algorithms showed a similar clustering pattern. This research provides valuable insights into the variability of TMS treatment and its effect on cognitive control in MDD patients. [Extracted from the article]
