Abstract

A new study conducted by the Center for Evidence-Based and Translational Medicine explores the association between biological aging and the risk of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The study analyzed data from a large prospective cohort of 135,933 males without BPH at enrollment. The findings suggest that biological aging is an independent and modifiable risk factor for BPH. The researchers recommend active health interventions to slow biological aging, which could help mitigate the progression of prostate aging and reduce the burden of BPH. [Extracted from the article]
