Abstract
- Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington have developed a new gene therapy technique to monitor the localization of engineered cells used in cancer treatment. The technique involves using a quantitative PCR assay to detect specific gene sequences in patient tissue samples. The researchers successfully detected engineered cell products in both fresh and archival tissue samples, providing a better understanding of the abundance and trafficking of therapeutic T cells. This inexpensive technique has the potential to improve treatment effectiveness and assess immune cell trafficking in cancer patients. [Extracted from the article]
