Abstract
- A new study conducted by researchers at Jikei University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan, has identified a ciliary kinase called DYRK2 as a positive regulator of Hedgehog (Hh) signaling. Hh signaling is an important pathway involved in development and tumorigenesis, making it a potential target for drug therapies. The researchers found that DYRK2 phosphorylates GLI2 and GLI3, two transcription factors involved in Hh signaling, leading to their activation and translocation into the nucleus. This discovery expands our understanding of the control of Hh-associated diseases and may have implications for the development of new treatments. [Extracted from the article]
