Abstract

The article examines the host range and geographic distribution of Ophidiomyces ophiodiicola, the fungal pathogen responsible for snake fungal disease (SFD), in Tennessee, U.S. It highlights the prevalence of the pathogen among various snake species across different counties and identifies new host species affected by SFD, underscoring the need for comprehensive sampling and standardized detection methods to better understand the pathogen's impact.
