Abstract

Solarity, a solar developer in Chile, has secured a $50 million financing line from Santander to support the deployment of distributed generation solar assets. This follows a previous $25 million financing agreement between the two companies. Solarity plans to develop an additional 30 plants, bringing its total portfolio to 200 by the end of the year, and aims to expand to 1000 plants in the coming years. The company's general manager, Horacio Melo, sees distributed generation as a growing model in Chile and a strategic partner for many companies. Solarity develops solar plants for various types of clients, including commercial, industrial, and agricultural, with installations on roofs, ground, parking lots, and floating solar projects. The company was acquired by Brookfield Renewable in 2021. [Extracted from the article]
