Abstract

Thai Air Asia X (TAAX), a low-cost carrier based in Bangkok, is expanding its fleet by adding leased Airbus A330-300 capacity. The airline recently acquired an eighth A330-300 widebody aircraft, which was previously owned by Crianza Aviation and flown by Singapore Airlines. As of the end of the first quarter of 2024, TAAX had a fleet of seven A330-300s, with six of them operational. Despite incurring foreign exchange losses, TAAX reported a net profit of MYR46.4 million ($10 million) for the first quarter. Crianza Aviation, the lessor of the new aircraft, is a Korean aircraft lessor with a portfolio of widebody aircraft. [Extracted from the article]
