Wildfires Encircle Canada's Oil-Sands City Amid Hot, Dry Weather.

A series of wildfires has broken out around Fort McMurray, Canada's unofficial oil-sands capital, posing a new threat to crude production in the region. Eight out-of-control fires have been discovered south and southwest of the city, in addition to three burning to the north where the main oil-sands mines are located.
