Abstract

To solve the problem of abnormal noise of the 3.5 t drive axle assembly of a high-end commercial vehicle during acceleration and coasting with gear, noise testing, spectrum analysis and signal processing under conditions of acceleration and coasting with gear are carried out, and it is determined that the cause for abnormal noise is that the brake drum fails to achieve dynamic balance. On this basis, dynamic balance testing and optimization of the brake drum are carried out on the measurement and control system of the dynamic balance machine. The results show that the over-all noise of the optimized vehicle under conditions of acceleration and coasting with gear is reduced by 1.5 dB and 7.29 dB respectively, and the 9th order noise reduction effect is more obvious, with a reduction of 6.79 dB and 13.1 dB. The dynamic balance optimization of the brake drum can provide a reference for improving the noise optimization ability of the drive axle assembly and solving the problem of abnormal noise under conditions of acceleration and coasting with gear.
