Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Tianjin University in China explored the relationship between endotoxins in household dust and childhood asthma and allergies. The study found a significant positive association between endotoxin concentrations and children's current asthma. Factors such as old houses, ventilation systems without exhaust fans, and infrequent window opening were related to higher concentrations of endotoxins. The researchers recommend strategies for controlling endotoxin concentrations, such as building maintenance and ventilation improvements, to reduce the risk of asthma in children.
