Abstract

A meta-analysis conducted in Fujian, People's Republic of China, examined the relationship between the expression of long noncoding RNA NEAT1 and the clinical characteristics and prognosis of rectal cancer patients. The study analyzed data from seven case-control studies, including 1,063 cancer patients. The results showed that high expression of NEAT1 was significantly correlated with the degree of differentiation, tumor size, and overall survival. However, it was not associated with gender and lymph node metastasis. The findings suggest that NEAT1 may be a risk factor for poor prognosis in rectal cancer patients and could serve as a biomarker for evaluation. [Extracted from the article]
