Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Capital Medical University aimed to investigate the relationship between the latest ischemic event (transient ischemic attack or stroke) and the occurrence of subsequent ischemic stroke in patients with symptomatic artery occlusion. The study found that there was no significant difference in the incidence of ipsilateral ischemic stroke between patients with a transient ischemic attack and those with a stroke as their qualifying event. The researchers concluded that the risk of subsequent ischemic stroke does not appear to be lower in patients presenting with a transient ischemic attack compared to those with a stroke. The study was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association. [Extracted from the article]
