Abstract
- Blink-182, the pop-punk pioneers, have reunited after a decade apart and are currently on a tour across North America. Engineers Charles Izzo and Ray Jeffrey are responsible for the front-of-house and monitor mix positions, respectively, using audio systems provided by Clair Global. Izzo aims to stay true to the band's classic records while adding an aggressive live element to their sound. The band uses high-end gear, including DPA microphones for vocals and drums, Fractal Audio AXE FX III for guitars, and Neural DSP Quad Cortex for bass. The tour features a unique drum kit that flies and spins in the air, requiring underhead microphones instead of overheads. The band hears their mixes through Sensaphonics and JH Audio in-ear monitors via Wisycom wireless. The stage is relatively quiet, thanks to d&b audiotechnik P.A. systems, and the crew uses virtual soundchecks to ensure the sound is right. The tour will continue in the UK and wrap up with US festivals, totaling over 120 shows in 19 months. [Extracted from the article]
