Abstract

This article discusses the concept of open access publication and the dangers of predatory journals. Open access allows papers to be immediately available to anyone with an internet connection, and authors retain the copyright of their work while giving the journal and readers a license to use, reproduce, and modify the content. However, open access journals often require authors to pay a fee to cover journal expenses. Predatory journals, on the other hand, charge fees without providing appropriate peer review or long-term curation of manuscripts. The article also touches on the use of impact factor as a measure of journal quality and the importance of publishing meaningful and high-quality research. [Extracted from the article]
