Challenges in Design and Construction of Boating Infrastructure in the Fitzroy Delta.

This paper discusses the challenges in planning, designing and constructing boating infrastructure in the vast tidal flood plains of the Fitzroy River delta in the Central Queensland region. The case study focuses on design and construction of two recreational public boating infrastructure projects in the region. This paper will discuss the different design principals that were used, different construction techniques adopted, and lessons learned during design and construction. Some of the design principals adopted were later found to be counterproductive in the construction phase and this will be further discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
