Abstract
- The national gas transmission system in Punjab is at risk due to a reduction in the use of imported gas in RLNG-based power plants. This reduction has caused a surge in line pack pressure, potentially jeopardizing the system. To mitigate this risk, authorities have started reducing gas flows from local fields, but this poses a threat to maintaining local gas production levels. The government faces a dilemma of either requesting Qatar to reduce LNG cargoes or increasing domestic gas and electricity demand. The line pack pressure remains high, and the industrial sector continues to consume a significant amount of gas. [Extracted from the article]
