Petrobras signs offshore MoU with Rio de Janeiro state.

Brazilian oil and gas company Petrobras has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rio de Janeiro to explore the development of offshore wind projects in the state. The agreement involves studying the feasibility of a pilot offshore wind project, collaborating on technology testing, and supporting future commercial-scale projects. Currently, there are 15 offshore wind projects in Rio de Janeiro state under review for licensing. Petrobras has also submitted permitting requests for 23GW of offshore wind projects along the Brazilian coastline and has partnered with Equinor for future developments.
