Abstract
- Optiemus Unmanned Systems (OUS), a subsidiary of Optiemus Infracom Limited, plans to invest Rs 140 crore to establish a fleet of 5,000 drones by the end of 2025. The company aims to offer a pioneering model of 'Drone as a Service' for the agriculture sector in India. The drones will be powered by components designed and manufactured in India. OUS also plans to train 6,000 pilots to manage the fleet and targets a service revenue of Rs 600 crore to Rs 900 crore by the end of next year. The company's goal is to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' vision and contribute to the prosperity of farmers. They have already started selling their drones to India's defense and paramilitary forces. OUS has launched the 'Agri Shakti 10L', an agricultural drone that can fly for up to 15 minutes and has a 10-litre spray tank capable of spraying 1 acre in approximately 7 minutes.
