Abstract

This article discusses a case of a subungual nodule in a pediatric patient. The patient, a 13-year-old girl, presented with a small pink bump under her left great toenail that had been growing slowly for 8 months. She also developed an ingrown nail on the same toe. Physical examination revealed a flesh-colored nodule causing distortion of the nail plate. The diagnosis was confirmed as subungual exostosis through radiography, which showed a trabecular bony overgrowth. Subungual exostosis is a rare, benign tumor that is most common in active female children and adolescents. Treatment typically involves surgical excision. [Extracted from the article]
