DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF PORR PRECAST CONCRETE TRACK PANELS FOR MELBOURNE'S METRO TUNNEL PROJECT.

This Paper describes the investigation of options, selection and design of the slab track system to suit Melbourne's Metro Tunnel Project (MMTP) track alignment constraints whilst addressing the significant ground borne noise and vibration attenuation requirements. Following evaluation of several options the final solution utilises the PORR system (a ballastless trackform incorporating precast concrete track panels) This has resulted in 3 different types of trackform being designed to satisfy the project specifications and performance requirements.
