Abstract
- A study conducted by the University of Novi Sad in Serbia evaluated the diagnostic value of F-18 FDG PET/CT in detecting recurrent colorectal cancer (CRC) in correlation with biochemical markers and conventional imaging modalities. The study included 134 CRC patients who underwent PET/CT imaging based on elevated tumor markers and equivocal CIM findings. The results showed that PET/CT had a high diagnostic performance in detecting recurrent CRC, with a sensitivity of 94.4% and specificity of 82.5%. The researchers concluded that PET/CT should be routinely integrated into the post-operative follow-up of CRC patients with elevated tumor markers. [Extracted from the article]
