Abstract
- This article discusses a framework for the design and use of Ambient Smart Environments (ASEs) for preventive mental health care support. The authors argue that ASEs have the potential to prevent mental health issues by avoiding "struck states" that underpin psychopathology. The paper explains the application of Complex Systems Theory (CST) to understand the adaptation to smart environments and proposes the development of neurotechnology to predict shifts in mental health and provide preventive interventions. It is important to note that this preprint has not been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
