Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India, explored the relationship between hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). HLH is a severe condition characterized by uncontrolled immune activity and hyperinflammation, and it can be either primary or secondary. The researchers presented three cases of unidentified autoimmune diseases that were later diagnosed as SLE manifesting as HLH. The study highlights the challenges in diagnosing HLH related to SLE and emphasizes the importance of early treatment for this life-threatening illness. [Extracted from the article]
