Abstract

A preprint abstract from biorxiv.org discusses the role of sensory experience in the development of neural circuits in the mouse visual cortex. The study used single-nucleus RNA-sequencing to analyze the transcriptional responses of cells in the visual cortex to sensory deprivation or stimulation. The researchers identified 1,268 unique sensory-induced genes and found that excitatory neurons, particularly layer 2/3 pyramidal neurons, were highly sensitive to sensory stimulation. The dataset provides valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms through which sensory experience shapes neural circuit wiring in the developing brain. However, it is important to note that this preprint has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
