Abstract
- A recent study conducted by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran examined the levels of magnesium in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis. The study found that electrolyte imbalances, particularly those related to magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus, are common among dialysis patients. The researchers collected data from 91 patients and found that over 70% of them had hypermagnesemia, while only one patient had hypomagnesemia. The study suggests that regular monitoring of electrolyte levels and appropriate adjustments to diet and electrolyte levels may be necessary for peritoneal dialysis patients.
