Abstract

According to a study conducted by Kaare Jensen at the Technical University of Denmark, the most dangerous type of paper for causing paper cuts is approximately 65 micrometers thick. Jensen and his colleagues tested various types of paper, including tissue paper, print magazines, office paper, book pages, business cards, and printed photos, to determine their ability to cut human skin. They found that paper of this thickness, commonly used for dot matrix printers and printed scientific journals, is not so thin that it buckles upon contact, but not so thick that its impact is blunted. The researchers even created a recyclable knife, called the "Papermachete," with a blade made from scrap paper of this thickness. [Extracted from the article]
