Abstract

Engie, a company developing a wind complex in Brazil, plans to issue R$2 billion ($381 million) in debentures to finance the project. The debentures have a unitary value of R$1,000 and were rated AAA(bra) by Fitch Ratings. The issuance is divided into four series, with the proceeds from the first three series being used for expenses or debts related to the wind project, and the fourth series going towards funding the company's working capital. The Serra do Assuruá wind complex, located in Bahia, will have an installed capacity of 846MW and is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025. Engie previously secured a R$1.5 billion loan from Brazilian development bank BNDES for the project. The issuance is being coordinated by a consortium of banks including Itau BBA, Banco Votorantim, Bradesco bbi, ABC Brasil, Safra, and Santander. [Extracted from the article]
