Abstract

This document is an editorial from the journal Biomedicines, discussing a special issue on the latest research in post-COVID conditions. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant increase in research, with a focus on managing acute cases and preventing the spread of the virus. However, there is now a growing concern about the development of long-lasting symptoms after the acute infection, known as long-COVID or post-COVID-19 condition. This special issue includes fourteen papers covering topics such as the treatment of post-COVID-19 condition, the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection on neonates, risk factors for severe COVID-19, and the phenotyping of post-COVID pain. The papers discuss various treatment strategies, the potential transmission of the virus during pregnancy, risk factors for severe disease, and different types of post-COVID pain. Overall, this special issue provides valuable insights into the understanding and management of post-COVID conditions. [Extracted from the article]
