Abstract

A recent study from Taipei Medical University explores the role of TET1, an active DNA demethylase, in ovarian cancer. The researchers found that TET1 reprogrammed the ovarian cancer epigenome, increased stem properties, and activated metabolic networks, particularly oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). Contrary to the Warburg effect, TET1 increased energy production through OXPHOS rather than glycolysis. The study suggests that targeting metabolic interventions could be a novel strategy for treating ovarian cancer. [Extracted from the article]
