Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Pavia in Italy examined the disparities in access to cancer screening programs in the Province of Pavia, with a focus on breast, colorectal, and cervical cancer screenings. The study found that the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these disparities, leading to a reduction in test coverage for all three programs. Non-Italian nationality and residency in rural or mountainous districts were identified as predictors of reduced screening access. The researchers emphasized the importance of implementing measures to enhance access to screening in a more equitable manner. [Extracted from the article]
