Abstract

A recent report from researchers at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Uttarakhand, India, highlights the increasing demand for herbal creams over synthetic creams due to their lower toxicity and fewer side effects. The report aims to provide clinical data-based evidence on the formulation and development of herbal creams, including their composition and manufacturing processes. The researchers reviewed 150 papers from 1995 to July 2023, focusing on various clinical and therapeutic applications of herbal creams, such as anti-inflammatory, dermatitis, anti-trauma, anti-aging, anti-acne, and vulvovaginal creams. However, the report concludes that more human clinical trials with larger sample sizes are needed to establish the safety and efficacy of herbal creams with higher accuracy.
