Abstract

In this study, we used the artificial intelligence (AI) textgeneration tool ChatGPT in undergraduate and graduate classes to test the potential benefits of incorporating AI tools into the curriculum, including its ability to provide correct answers to sophisticated questions, as well as the potential drawbacks, such as academic integrity concerns and limitations of the tool. We tested the tool on exams in both undergraduate and graduate healthcare database courses --core courses for health administration and policy students at the university where the study was conducted. We asked a series of exam questions and found that the tool had varying success, with a high score of 83.3/100 on a PhD comprehensive exam. The benefits of using AI text generators in education are that the tool can generate code for different problems and provide explanations of results.
