Abstract

Brazilian energy company Grupo Energisa has secured a R$1.76 billion ($332.6 million) loan from the Brazilian development bank BNDES to support its distribution subsidiaries across 11 states in Brazil. The financing will be divided among the company's 9 distribution businesses, which serve a total of 20 million people. This funding will enable the company to maintain operations, improve the quality of electricity supply, expand its networks, and increase its customer base. The director of infrastructure, energy transition, and climate change at BNDES emphasized the importance of expanding energy distribution services for the population and ensuring the reliability of energy in these regions.
