Abstract
- Precision medicine is a personalized approach to medical treatment that takes into account individual characteristics such as medical history, molecular profiles, lifestyle, and environmental factors. It aims to provide tailored interventions for each patient, leading to more effective and safer clinical management. This approach requires identifying specific disease subtypes and classifying patients into different subpopulations based on their response and susceptibility to traditional treatments. The article discusses various studies on precision medicine, including the challenges in diagnosing and treating inner ear diseases, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs used in autism spectrum disorder, the potential of drug repositioning in treating thyroid cancer, and the use of computational and experimental methods for managing neurodegenerative diseases. The integration of genomics into community health is also explored, with a focus on the NorthShore University HealthSystem as an example of personalized healthcare delivery. Overall, these studies highlight the importance of diverse pharmacological strategies and patient details for successful treatments. [Extracted from the article]
