Abstract

A recent study conducted by the RAND Corporation examined the attitudes and intentions of parents in the United States regarding Lyme disease vaccination for their children aged 5-18 years. The study found that 68% of parents surveyed would have their child vaccinated against Lyme disease, with a higher willingness in states with high incidence compared to emerging incidence. Vaccine safety concerns were identified as a major factor contributing to vaccine hesitancy. The study also revealed a slight preference for monoclonal antibody injections over a 3-dose vaccine series, particularly in rural areas. The researchers suggest that addressing safety concerns and providing access to both options may increase Lyme disease prevention. [Extracted from the article]
