Abstract
- A systematic review conducted by researchers at Queen's University in Canada examined the response to biologic therapy in individuals with moderate-to-severe psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, specifically focusing on participants with skin of color (SOC). The review analyzed 11 studies with a total of 1,781 SOC participants. While no significant differences in treatment outcomes were found among the SOC population, variations in baseline characteristics and comorbidities were observed, suggesting that race or ethnic background should be considered when prescribing treatment for psoriasis or atopic dermatitis. The researchers recommend further large-scale randomized controlled trials to confirm these findings. [Extracted from the article]
