Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Kobe University examined the impact of visual impairment (VI) on physical function, activities of daily living, and length of hospital stay in patients undergoing Phase I cardiac rehabilitation (CR). The study found that patients with VI had slower walking speed, lower physical performance, and lower functional independence compared to those without VI. Additionally, VI was associated with decreased walking speed and longer hospital stays in Phase I CR patients. These findings highlight the importance of addressing visual impairment in cardiovascular disease patients to improve their overall outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
