Abstract

A study conducted in Salerno, Italy, examined the use of an automated insulin delivery (AID) system in six women with type 1 diabetes (T1D) throughout their pregnancy and postpartum period. The patients used the MiniMed 780G device and received virtual follow-up visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found that all patients achieved and maintained recommended metabolic goals, with optimal glycaemic values during labor and delivery and in the first 30 days postpartum. The researchers concluded that the MiniMed 780G device helped maintain glycaemic control despite not being specifically designed for pregnancy. [Extracted from the article]
