Abstract

A recent study conducted at Shanxi Medical University in China explored the clinical value of a cognitive behavioral nursing model for patients with congenital glaucoma. The study included 153 postoperative patients who were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group. The observation group received cognitive behavioral nursing care, while the control group received routine nursing care. The results showed that the observation group had lower levels of anxiety and depression, higher levels of mental toughness, better treatment adherence, and higher nursing care satisfaction compared to the control group. Additionally, the observation group had improved visual acuity, reduced intraocular pressure, and decreased mean visual field defect values. The study concluded that cognitive-behavioral nursing care can have positive effects on patients with congenital glaucoma. [Extracted from the article]
