Abstract
- Huawei Technologies is close to finalizing a deal with Tencent Holdings to allow the WeChat app to operate fully on its Harmony mobile platform without sharing any revenue. This agreement is seen as a way for Huawei to maintain its lead over Apple in China. In return, Tencent will continue to update and maintain the WeChat app, which is widely used in China for various purposes. The deal is also expected to benefit Tencent by driving more sales from WeChat's mini programs. However, the negotiations are still ongoing and a deal has not been finalized yet.
